Old Friends

Every year when I get back to Spokane for the holidays I remember exactly who my true friends are. There are a handful of friends who always want to plan something but never plan it and those friends who say they might be back but never show, but then there are those friends who are always willing to cut time out of their busy lives to catch up. I love those friends. Thank you Jenny, Krista, Kate, Erin, Jen and Dacia for being my true friends. I love you girls and always will have time in my life for you. I love knowing that no matter what the distance and no matter how long the time in between visits, these girls will jump right back in like we were never apart. True friends are the best friends to find. I have made a few more friends at the U of I that I am proud to say are already faithful to me and would do anything for me. I know they too will always be willing to stop their busy lives to catch up with me in the future if they are ever in the area. Today I caught up with Jenny, a lifelong friend and old neighbor. Despite the horrific roads and snow drifts she managed to drive her tiny little car all the way out to my house and see me for just a few hours. Those are the friends everyone needs in their lives.

Christmas is here!

This is Jon and I all ready to go to Christmas at Grandma and Grandpa Naccarato's house. Jon made out good with a new iPod touch! I was amazed and he was so happy he couldn't stop giggling. It was so cute... just like a little kid again. He thanked my grandparents multiple times. Well, today is Christmas Eve and it is our night to go to the Myers Christmas. This is my dad's side which is huge and very entertaining. I am so excited but Jon cannot come :( I am still excited to see my family though and I hope we get to go. We are planning on going but it is snowing like crazy once again and we might not be able to leave our house. This would definitely make me sad. Hopefully all goes well and we make it to the Myers Christmas. Then tomorrow we celebrate Christmas as a family here at our house. I will be leaving though to say hi to Jon's dad and step mom and then to his mom's house to say hi to his mom, sister, grandma, Tony and Andy. Wow... I feel like I am pulled a million directions! It will all be better next year though when we plan it all ourselves! And hopefully there is not this much stinkin snow! Well, have a Merry Christmas everyone and I hope you all make it to your destinations! Ann and Dan have a safe trip with the boys, I hope you make it!

Weather is Messing With My Plans

So today I was supoposed to host a Christmas Party with all of my highschool girlfriends that are all back in town. As you may be able to guess from the title of my blog, this is not going to happen. Well, I can make it down my driveway but that is about it. Our mailbox is completely burried in snow and the road has 5 foot snow drifts! There is no way I am going to make it into town. I am so bummed. I was excited to see all of my friends. We always get together and go to lunch or dinner around Christmas. This year we were going to do an ornament exchange. Well, it is getting postponed until after Christmas now. Oh well, the point is we will all get to see each other eventually. It is suposed to stop snowing at noon today and then warm up until Wednesday, then bring on the snow again until Sunday. Wow... so much snow! But if it warms up and makes the snow heavier it won't drift which will be so nice. The snow is just so light and fluffy right now that it blows everywhere and creates drifts. Speaking of light snow... Raymond, my 13 year old brother, thought the snow looked so soft that he decided to jump off of our upper deck into the snow below. Let me just say after Raymonds moaning and groaning... do not try to do a belly flop into the snow from a 10 foot landing! There were no broken bones luckily but the wind was knocked out of him for a good 2 minutes. And no... my parents were not sitting here watching him do it... they were gone Christmas shopping and my other brothers were telling Ray "Do it, Do it, Do it"! Well this is the end of my winter maddness rant and rave. Talk at you all soon again.

This is the pile of snow Ray belly flopped onto. It has grown a few inches since he jumped, but you get the idea.

This is our roof... it has just a little bit of snow on it. My dad just shoveled our roof two days ago and it already has 4 feet of snow on it again!

A Winter Wonderland

Today I woke up to 4 new inches of snow after yesterdays intense 2 foot snow storm! We are just building snow here at my house! It snowed all day long and it is absolutely beautiful out here at my house. There is a white blanket of snow on our field and trees. The christmas lights my mom wrapped so nicely around our trees on our driveway now only peep through the mass amounts of snow. I love the winter time in north Spokane. The huge snowflakes I saw falling gently to the ground this morning just made me feel warm and happy inside. It is a sweet suprise like on Christmas Day. Each morning I wake up eagerly to see how much new snow we got the night before. Tonight we are supposed to get another 4 to 6 inches! I am so excited. I cannot wait to make a huge Fox Chase the Hen track in our back yard and play with my family! Snow falling is one of the prettiest sights. I just love it. I am sitting here in my living room watching snow gently fall as I type and I cannot get over how pretty and calming it is. I hope you all enjoy the snow wherever you may be for the Holidays!

A Big Relief

Today I got the scores for my PRAXIS test. It is a test I have to take to become a teacher. Well, I PASSED! I am so relieved I do not have to take that monster of a test again. I know a few people who were not as fortunate as I was but I know they will learn even more and be thankful when they do pass in the future. There is a reason for every failure and once they realize what the reason was they will be greatful and learn from the past. Good job to all who passed, and good luck to all of those who take it in the future!

Songs That Take Me Back

Whever I hear any Spice Girls song it takes me back to when I was in 5th grade. Me, my sister and my neighbors all were a Spice girl and we would dance and sing on the Kine's driveway. We made up dances and everything to go along with every song. Summer nights were the best in that neighborhood. I hope that when I have kids I live in an amazing neighborhood!

Another song that takes me back is Cant Touch This. My little sister Katie and I made up a dance to Cant Touch This when I was a Junior in high school. The song came on the radio in the car and we both just started dancing and happened to do the same moves! It was so crazy that we had to make up a dance with the rest of our bodies and show it to my mom. To this day Katie and I still know the dance. Now my mom and I have a memory with Cant Touch This too because when I was a Freshman in college Jon was over and the song came on and my mom and I started dancing, apparently there is something weird about the way we dance cause Jon could not stop laughing.

Dont Take the Girl by Tim McGraw reminds me of Jon everytime I hear it. He loves this song and knows every word! The first time I heard him sing it was when I was driving in my car with him. During the part of the song where the mom almost dies giving birth Jon teared up and stopped singing and after the song he said that part is too sad cause he never wants that to happen to me. It was so sweet and I love this song!

So many songs take me back but there is just not enough time to write about them all. I am supposed to be studying for my ICLA test at 4:30 but I decided not to. Maybe I should go do that.
