Arby's

Yum! That is the first thing I have to say about Arby's! Haha. So Jon is not very fond of Arby's so I never get to go there, but I have a dear friend who absolutely feels my pain. Her husband is not so fond of the place either. So we have made a few lunch dates, and since the first date we have never gone anywhere else... it is our secret addiction! Haha. Today was one of our much needed lunch dates. She is one of my best friends and I love hanging out with her. I have not gotten alone time with her in way too long. Today was one of the most needed alone times of the year and I think it was the most enjoyable. The past few months have been crazy and being able to just sit down and relax for two seconds and not think about anything with a great friend was so nice! Thanks Ann! We will definitely be going to Arby's at least once more before school gets out! And if we dont make it because of our crazy homework load we will have to go the last day of school, we just have to! Haha. Spending time with a great friend whom you have not gotten much time with is always such a nice breath of fresh air. I recomend it to everyone!

Mom's Weekend is Coming!

I am so excited for Mom's weekend this year. I will get to spend quality alone time with my mother! My older sister finally will not be here this year, not that I dont love my older sister, but it is nice to have alone time with mom. My younger brother is a Freshman this year, but he will lose interest in hanging out with Mom haha. He will go do his frat stuff, and I will get time with MOM! YAY! I cannot wait. Well, all this talk about mom made me think about how much I am like her. Jon and I were looking through pictures the other day and found a picture of me and one of my friends at Tommy's highschool graduation party and I look JUST LIKE MY MOM! I have been told all my life I look like my mom, but this picture totally convinced me! I am doomed! Haha. Just Kidding, my mom is gorgeous. Jon says the resemblence is scary, not just in looks, but our attitude and everything about us haha. Well, that's my blog for the day. Oh, and here is the picture of me looking just like my mom.

A Trip to the Dentist

A few weeks ago Jon had to go to the dentist to get a cavity filled. When he got home he tried to smile at me and I could just not stop laughing. This is what he looked like:

My Mother

Have you ever known a person who has more love in their heart than you thought possible? A person who no matter what is able to comfort and make you feel warm inside? That is my mother :) My mom has had seven children and to this day it amazes me how much patience, energy, and love this woman has. My mom has always been there for me whenever I have needed her. I remember when us kids were little we used to always ask mom for something if we wanted a yes answer. Even if you did not hear yes that first time, with a little convincing and pleading, you would usually in the end get your way. My mom is a very strong but gentle person. Even when times were tough I always felt safe and loved. I never felt as though anything was wrong in my life, although now I know there were a few hard times back when I was young. Money was not always plentiful, but my mom knew exactly how to make ends meet and stretch every last little penny. I have grown up in a house full of love and laughter and I thank my mom for it all. She was and is still a stay at home mom and she was always the one taking care of us during the day. When there would be problems between us children she would handle them. And when there were good times, she would only add to the little laughs coming from all of us involved. My mom has the biggest heart in the entire world. I know many people might think the same thing of their mom, but my mom is special. Having seven children, and way too much stress, and yet still loving life is the kind of mom I admire. And that is my mom.

For Mom's birthday this year I knew no one had really gotten her anything. We all took a mini vacation up to a ski mountain and skied for a few days. Mom and I stayed in the condo one day and just talked. It was so nice. Since her birthday was the 16th of February I knew people would be thinking about Valentines day. So I decided to focus on my Mom's birthday. I got home with Jon before everyone else and decided to suprise my mom when she got home from the 2 hour drive. Jon and I went to the store and bought flowers and chocolate cake, my mom's favorite. I had them sitting on the counter with candles for when she walked in the door. My mom was expecting to come home and just chill and not really even talk about her birthday. Some of my siblings didn't even realize it was Mom's birthday! My mom was so suprised and loved the cake and flowers. She knew my dad was not getting her something because after 22 years of marriage birthdays are not really as important as celebrating family adventures. So, my mom told me how much it meant to her that I remembered her birthday and was so excited. My mom loves the smallest things and that is one more reason I love her so much. Even if I would have just made her a card she would have felt special. I made everyone that was home sing Happy Birthday to her before she could eat the cake :) She loved it.

Everyone out there with an amazing mom, dont forget to tell them how amazing they are. They need a pick me up every once in a while too.
